Sustainable Agriculture
Sustainable agriculture practices through organic farming are important for better land fertility and for maintaining a healthy life. It increases soil fertility and moisture. It is cost effective and does not require much water and irrigation. GMKS started organic farming in the region almost a decade back. It is trying to revive age-old best practices related to agriculture.
It conducts training programmes on organic cultivation, Vermi compost manure, cash crop cultivation etc.It encourages small and marginal farmers for opting organic cultivation.
Organic farming is the simple process of using all natural resources available in the locality. Organic farming is most eco-friendly which does not require any investment.

GMKS has invented a unique method of using all local resources and this has been experimented in farmlands to suit the purpose of small and marginal farmers. Farmers have honed the skills: how to use cow-dung and urine for organic farming. Farmers regularly collect and store cow-dung for making of vermi compost. It is most suitable and natural form of manure used in cultivation of crops. It is possible to produce better crop through organic farming that has enhanced the average yearly income of the farmers and these activities have created a greater impact on the farmers of this region.

In order to secure the livelihood of these tribal people, GMKS has successfully revived the age-old agricultural practices in the villages. Majority of farmers have accepted organic farming because it has enhanced the average monthly income in the tune of Rs. 2500/- per family.

This has halted the seasonal migration in the villages and the people have restarted cultivation in the villages. GMKS is in a process to setup processing units in the villages to provide packaging, processing and marketing support to organic and cash crops produced by small and marginal farmers.
